Notary Services Disclaimer
LJ Notary provides mobile notary public services as a commissioned California notary public. We are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or document preparation services unless permitted by California law.
We do not:
- Advise which documents to use
- Explain legal effects of documents
- Assist in completing documents beyond notarial certificates when legally allowed
Any legal questions should be directed to a licensed attorney.
Appointment Requests & Availability
All appointments are subject to availability and confirmation. Submitting a request through the website, phone, or text does not guarantee an appointment until confirmed by LJ Notary.
We reserve the right to refuse service if:
- Proper identification is not provided
- The signer is unwilling or unable to sign
- The signer lacks awareness or appears under duress
- The notarization would violate California notary law
Identification Requirements
All signers must present valid, government-issued photo identification as required by California law. Acceptable ID types are determined by the California Secretary of State.
If valid ID is not available, the appointment may be canceled and travel or service fees may still apply.
Fees, Payments & Deposits
Notary fees are regulated by California law. Additional fees may apply for:
- Mobile travel
- Distance and location
- Parking or facility access
- After-hours, weekend, or same-day appointments
- Printing or document handling
A deposit may be required to secure certain appointments, including hospital, jail, or emergency visits. Deposits are generally non-refundable once an appointment is confirmed.
Cancellations & No-Shows
Clients are responsible for notifying LJ Notary as soon as possible if an appointment must be canceled or rescheduled.
Failure to cancel within a reasonable time or failure to appear may result in:
- Forfeiture of deposit
- Charges for travel time or expenses incurred
Document Readiness
Documents must be complete and ready for notarization at the time of appointment. LJ Notary is not responsible for delays or additional fees caused by incomplete documents, missing signers, or missing identification.
